Wide Blue Yonder: A Colourful Collaboration Between Lordy Dordie & Maiocchi
I'm thrilled to introduce Wide Blue Yonder — a limited-edition Australian fashion collaboration between Lordy Dordie and Maiocchi, brought to life through our shared passion for bold colour, vibrant prints, and thoughtful Australian design.
This creative partnership came together naturally. Dee from Maiocchi and I had admired each other’s work for years, and when we finally connected, we knew we wanted to design something that felt joyful, expressive, and wearable — a celebration of both art and fashion.
As a Brisbane-based artist and surface pattern designer, I created a unique hand-painted floral print inspired by native Australian flowers. Every detail was painted in my sunny studio, layered over a rich navy base to let the colours sing. The palette is vibrant and uplifting, but still timeless and versatile — perfect for creating wearable art pieces that stand out without overwhelming.
What I love most about the Wide Blue Yonder collection is how it balances statement-making style with everyday comfort. Maiocchi’s commitment to beautiful fits and premium fabrics means these garments don’t just look good — they feel amazing to wear, whether you're enjoying a summer afternoon or heading into a crisp autumn day.
If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the Holly Dress. It perfectly captures everything I hoped for in this collaboration: bold, joyful, and designed to celebrate the magic of colour.
