Arrival 3:30 PM: Pick-up from Launceston Airport or Launceston city. Departure 9:00 AM: Return transfers to Launceston Airport.

Pack painting clothes and casuals. A warm waterproof/windproof jacket is great for when the weather changes and you want to do walks outside. Swimwear if you are keen for a cold ocean plunge or if you would like to book the local ‘Floating Sauna’ nearby. We recommend slippers for inside the hotel as some bathrooms are detached. Painters often find that fingerless gloves are wonderful in the cooler climates when working outside.

Testimonials

  • Thanks so much for the amazing week, it was so much fun and great to learn new techniques. Loved it all. The group project was such a brilliant idea as well and it looks amazing.

  • This is not my first retreat, but it was my first devoted to making visual art. I LOVED it. What I loved most: both of you created a supportive, encouraging and welcoming environment. This enabled me to be myself and be okay with where I was at. Your leadership meant that there wasn't comparison or competition happening in the group and this is the number one thing that made it so successful, from my point of view. I really loved working with both of you!

  • Thank you so kindly for an amazing art retreat – you certainly did make it colourful, fun, entertaining and a brilliant experience. Thank you. I’ve been to lots of workshops and yours is way up there by far! I learnt so much and my creative energy soared. Your generosity, spirited energy and care is next level. I even had a moment of tears welling in my eyes during making one day because I had an overwhelming sense of sheer happiness – this was a huge for me – Thank you. Your teaching is balanced with direct instruction and incidental teaching moments tailored to individuals in the group, you provide an immense array of experiences and knowledge of media, materials, techniques and skills, whilst engaging everyone to test, try and imagine and create at the level of experience they bring to the workshop as well as encourage to go a step further , you make everyone feel relaxed and open – you are gifted. The art exercises were fabulous and your patients admirable to meet all the needs of the group, and what an amazing group it was xx I am in awe of this group of women – just amazing, beautiful girls to cheer on !

  • I really appreciated the preparation that both of you had done to allow the most of our time. As a teacher myself, I understand the time and care that goes into this crucial part of any teaching and learning. Clear and explicit instruction with demonstration and modelling was appreciated. Thank you for being so generous to share your art materials and to advise on the array of possibilities that each of them provides. Having each lesson with a specific outcome was helpful to ensure we each had a portfolio to build on after the retreat. I love how your personalities combine and balance and that you both had a chance to be the student and experience the retreat as an artist; fantastic role modelling and lifelong learning. I loved having a space that could be left in situ for art anytime! Loved how you included and encouraged other artists' experiences, knowledge and expertise to lessons, conversations and activities. Encouragement and sensitivity was in abundance. Thank you!!!
